The book deals in general terms with the results of the field and laboratory research carried out on the Solovetsky Archipelago and other islands in the southern part of the White Sea between 1984 and 2010. The author examines the problems of periodization and chronology of the archeological monuments on the islands and the peculiarities of those monuments belonging to the primeval material civilization on the White Sea islands. He examines questions connected with the settlement of the Solovetsky Islands and Kuzova Archipelago. With regard to the stone labyrinth and sacred places of the Solovetsky Archipelago he examines the problems of dating them, establishing their place in local culture and their purpose.
